New Square Photo Book Sizes: 15×15, 20×20 & 29×29

New Formats. Fresh Covers.

Your photos deserve more than a crowded camera roll and a vague “I’ll make a book someday.”

That “someday” just got a serious upgrade. PYM’s iconic square photo books now come in three new premium hardcover sizes15×15, 20×20 and 29×29 cm – so you can give every story the space (and quality) it deserves. Same PYM simplicity. More room for your life.

Why Square Photo Books Just Work

We’ve always believed in the power of the square. A square format gives every photo equal space to shine—no awkward cropping, no strange white bars, just clean, modern layouts that feel timeless Square photo books also make it effortlessly easy to mix:

  • Full-page hero shots
  • Minimalist grids
  • Collages of tiny in-between moments

The result? Your book feels curated and calm, not chaotic—like a visual journal you’ll actually want to pull off the shelf again and again.

Meet the New PYM Square Sizes

PYM’s Square line is all about giving you a premium, lay-flat experience—whether you’re printing a tiny season of your life or an entire year. All three Square sizes share the same high-end specs:

  • Hardcover in 3 formats: 15×15, 20×20, 29×29 cm
  • Lay-flat binding (perfect for double-page spreads)
  • 24–100 pages, holding roughly 24–600 photos
  • FUJIFILM Crystal Archive photo paper, matte or glossy finish
  • Clean, smart layouts: mixed, full-page or grid
  • Optional travel map on the first page
  • Fully personalised cover: image, title, colour

Here’s how to choose your format:

15×15 cm — The Everyday Storyteller

Think of the 15×15 as your all-rounder.

  • Perfect for: a single trip, a baby’s first year, a couple’s story, a season of life
  • Easy to hold, easy to gift, still feels premium
  • Great if you love cozy, intimate books that invite slow flipping

It’s small enough to keep on your bedside table, but big enough that your photos don’t feel cramped.

20×20 cm — The Modern Family Favorite

The 20×20 is for those “this deserves a bit more space” stories.

  • Perfect for: a full family yearbook, a wedding guest perspective book, or a full travel adventure
  • Extra breathing room for photos and captions
  • Ideal if you want one book that feels substantial but not oversized

If you’ve ever wished your yearbook could hold hundreds of photos without turning into a design project, this is your size.

29×29 cm — The Coffee-Table Showstopper

This is your statement piece.

  • Perfect for: weddings, once-in-a-lifetime trips, milestone birthdays, legacy family albums
  • Big, bold spreads that look incredible in lay-flat
  • The kind of book guests naturally pick up when they visit

For the memories you never want to rush past, the 29×29 format turns your story into a coffee-table experience.

Premium Look, Zero Design Stress

You don’t need to be a designer to create a beautiful PYM book. PYM uses smart auto-layouts and intelligent curation to transform hundreds of photos into a clean, minimal book in minutes—even with very large collections. That means:

  • No endless dragging and resizing
  • No wrestling with complicated tools
  • No second-guessing if it “looks good enough”

Every layout in PYM is crafted to look beautiful by default—you just choose the photos and the vibe (full-page, grids, mixed).

Built for Real Life

PYM is designed for real, unfiltered life—the big milestones and the messy in-betweens.

  • Capture spontaneous daily moments with random prompts and build a visual diary over time
  • Or create themed Albums for things like weddings, travel, baby milestones, family seasons, and social events
  • When you’re ready, turn those collections into a printed photo book—directly in the app

No pressure to post. No algorithm. Just your story, your way.

Even More Ways to Personalise Your PYM Books

The new formats aren’t just bigger and bolder—they’re also more you. PYM is rolling out extra personalisation options so your book doesn’t just hold your memories, it actually feels like your story. Most features are already available, and the final wave of updates is aimed for early December.

On iOS: Dial In Every Detail

On iOS, you can fine-tune the look and feel of your book in just a few taps:

  • Photo on the cover (Booklet, Zine, Square)
Add a hero image to the cover so your story is instantly recognisable—whether it’s a tiny zine or a big square book.
  • Cover in color (Booklet, Zine, Square)
Match your cover to your trip, your home, or your mood. Keep it minimal and neutral or go bold with color.
  • Title on the spine (Booklet, Square)
Give your shelf some order and style with a clean spine title. Perfect for yearly series like “Family 2024”, “Italy Trip”, or “Baby Year One”.
  • Map with places you’ve been (Square)
For PYM Square books, add a map showing the locations you’ve visited—ideal for travel, road trips or multi-city adventures.
  • Up to 694 photos in a Zine
Turn a huge chunk of your camera roll into a minimal, documentary-style Zine. Up to 694 photos in a single book—perfect for dense travel logs or daily-photo projects.
  • Glossy or matte finish (Booklet, Square)
Choose between glossy (for punchy contrast and shine) or matte (for a softer, tactile, editorial feel) on Booklet and Square formats.
  • Zine date format & time
For Zines, you can set the date format in English or Dutch, and even choose to show the time. Great for detailed journaling, baby milestones, or precise trip logs.

On Android: Big Stories, Big Capacity

On Android, personalisation is expanding too, so you can enjoy the same modern print experience:

  • PYM Square photo books added
The new PYM Square photo books are being added to Android, bringing the same clean, lay-flat, coffee-table-ready formats to your device.
  • Up to 694 photos in a Zine
Just like on iOS, you’ll be able to add up to 694 photos to a Zine—turning a whole season (or an entire year) into one beautifully simple book.

These updates make it easier than ever to make each book unmistakably yours—across both platforms.

Anniversary Edition: A Surprise Book from Your PYM History

For our most loyal users, we wanted to do something a little special. Introducing the PYM Anniversary Edition: a surprise photo book built from your own PYM history, with almost no effort from you. Here’s how it works:

  • PYM can auto-select up to 600 photos from your existing PYM timeline.
  • Those photos are curated into a beautiful, ready-to-print photo book—a visual time capsule of your life in PYM.
  • You get a complete “highlight reel” of your years in the app, without having to dig through albums or make tough decisions.

It’s perfect if you’ve been using PYM for a long time and want to celebrate:

  • A decade of family life
  • Years of travel and everyday moments
  • Your relationship story, from the early days to now
  • Or simply your journey of “showing up” for your own memories

You can still fine-tune the book if you want—swap a photo, change a cover, tweak a title—but the heavy lifting is handled for you. The Anniversary Edition turns your long-term PYM habit into something tangible you can hold, gift, and revisit.
